Restaurante El Santo is the original Argentinian Steakhouse & Pizzeria in Calpe that has been established in the Old Town since 1983.

Customers can dine inside the restaurant, which is full of character and charm, or during the summer months they can enjoy a meal on the outside terrace, which is perfect for soaking up the special atmosphere in the Old Town.

The Restaurant

Restaurante El Santo is set in a picturesque location in the heart of the Old Town, close to the church "La Senora de Las Nieves".
When you reach the entrance, you see the rustic facade covered with ivy, and immediately get a sense of the character and history of this 200 year old building.

El Santo is run by Anna and her friendly team, who welcome customers of many different nationalities.
The name of the restaurant comes from a statue of a Saint found in this house a long time ago.

The restaurant interior has a soft and romantic atmosphere, and you can see and smell the authentic wood fire upon which the Argentinian meats are cooked.

The pavement terrace is a wonderful place in the summer for outdoor dining. It is the perfect venue for a meal with friends and family, or a romantic dinner for 2.

The nearby church square and streets are all pedestrianised, making this a very popular venue with families, who can enjoy a meal in an relaxing environment where the children can play safely.

The Food

All food served at El Santo is freshly prepared using the best wholesome ingredients. Customers are welcomed at the restaurant with fresh bread & homemade alioli.

A large choice of starters and salads are offered to start, many of which are perfect for sharing. These include Sweetcorn Salad with Turkey, and Celery Salad with Apples, Nuts & Roquefort.

El Santo specialises in fresh hand-made pizzas with a variety of 44 different toppings, as well a choice of homemade pasta dishes.

There is also a selection of Argentinian meats, all cooked fresh on the wood barbecue, served with Jacket Potato & Salad.

House specialities include their “Provençale” pizza, Calzone, Vegetable raviolis and Sirloin Steak "El Santo".

A list of over 50 Spanish & Italian wines are offered to accompany the meal, as well as their famous "Jug of Sangria" - made with their own special recipe.
