For many expats living on the Costa Blanca, it is essential for them to take out private health insurance.
So if you decide to take out Health Insurance, what does it cover and what are the benefits?
Claire Johnstone at CJ Insurance talks about health insurance cover here on the Costa Blanca, including details of what cover you really do get with your policy:
"There is often confusion about what cover you really get when taking a policy. It’s simply not right when people buy insurance and then find out that they’re not covered by some small print clause, usually based around pre-existing conditions.
I am a representative for DKV insurance, and this is also insurance I use for my family. When someone takes a policy with me I know I can feel confident that my customer has taken a good policy, with good cover, with a good company, and DKV offer excellent medical cover at really good rates.
Some things I would like to highlight:
- DKV are very clear that many pre-existing conditions are in fact included in the cover, for both doctors and specialists
- DKV include 20,000€ of emergency worldwide travel cover
- DKV also include cover for road traffic accidents.
There are a lot of options out there but for me and my family, there is only 1 choice! So, if you’re thinking about getting private health cover for your family, or maybe you need it as part of your Residencia application, I’d be delighted to advise and help you."
Claire has working in the private health insurance industry for over 14 years. Claire covers the whole of the North Costa Blanca, and will be happy to travel to you, if you are unable to visit the office in Moraira.
