THE BUSINESS OWNERS IN CALLE CORBETA PROTEST TO THE MAYOR ABOUT THE DELAY IN THE WORK ON THEIR STREET.

The Calpe Chamber of Commerce, AEMCO, have asked the Mayor, for compensation to be paid to the businesses affected by the work on renovating the street, calle Corbeta.
The business owners complained that there are no signs telling people where to go, and that the protective fencing was inadequate.
The Mayor told AEMCO in a meeting he held with the Association and the business owners, that he would look into their complaints.
He said the work was going at the pace expected, and that he would contact the company in charge of the works and make sure there are no delays of any kind.
After the meeting AEMCO made a statement saying that the stoppage of the work is due to the incompetence of our politicians and civil servants.
It has been discovered that the works have stopped because there were no drainage pipes for water collection laid in the road in the new works.
The project has now to be modified and re negotiated.
