PP Councillor for Sports, Pedro Jaime Fernandez resigns.

Partido Popular Councillor for Sports, Pedro Jaime Fernandez, resigns after it is revealed his colleagues are allegedly involved in the Brugal corruption case.

Pedro Jaime Fernandez claims the corruption scandals besetting his party have caused him so much embarressment that he has decided to resign from the Partido Popular. For some time now Fernandez has had differences with the Partido Popular leader and ex Mayor Javier Morató. He was also never been comfortable with the BLOC, PP, PSD ruling coalition. Despite Fernandez not being  in accord with a number of the Mayor’s decisions, the Mayor respected his actions and asked him to remain as Councillor for Sports and Third Age. The local Partido Popular party claim that Fernandez’s actions have ulterior motives.
