There will be no club meeting next Monday 2nd August as most members are going to Chez Flo where Friends of Emaus are having a musical fundraising event.
Mike Manning wants to retire and has announced that he will host the gathering on the 9th August but after that, should no one step forward to carry the banner, the club will close.
A message from Mike:
"I've given a lot of thought to this before coming to a decision regarding my place within the club and can only say that I sincerely hope someone, or more than one(?) will step forward as I would still like to go to a folk club within this area. What I cannot continue with is the increasing feeling that I have made myself a Monday evening "job" to which I must attend or otherwise organise a replacement.
So thoughts all round please. No changes of mind from me so no need for responses to this email. Get busy. If you want a club then organise a rota perhaps. It's over to you.
Whilst passing on the news I would however like to thank everyone for the support that has been given to the club over the past 3+ years and specifically I would like to thank Sheila & Ron who have repeatedly deputised for me during vacations."
