THE CALPE / BENISSA LIONS GIVE 1,000€ TO PURCHASE HANDICRAFT MATERIEALS FOR THE MAITE BORONAT DAY CENTRE FOR THE MENTALLY HANDICAPPED.
Members of the Calpe/Benissa Lions visited the Maite Boronat Centre for the mentally handicapped to view the craft materials that were bought with the 1,000€ they had donated. The money has been raised through the fund raising activities of the Club. The Councillor for Social Services, Noelia Poquet, received the Associations President, Hugh Stewart, and the members with the Centre’s Director, Gema González. Since the Calpe/Benissa Lions was founded in 2007, it has carried out numerous activities such as concerts, fashion shows, parties etc to collect funds for organizations such as the Red Cross, Caritas, EMAÚS, the Gargasindi School for the handicapped and the Maite Boronat Centre.
