Paul is a fully qualified expert with 22 years experience. He has been a Financial Adviser in the UK since 1988, and set up his own Independent Financial Advice company in the UK in 2000, which was directly authorised by the FSA.

He is now a partner of the award-winning AES International team, with an office based in Benitachell on the Costa Blanca. Regulation

Paul says that "many ex-pats living in Spain are under the mis-conception that if a firm is registered & regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in the UK, then they are protected in the same way as a UK citizen. And in fact this is not the case".

AES International has authorisation from the Spanish regulators - CNMV - Comision National del Mercado del Valores, and is authorised to give investment advice under the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).


The Spanish regulators are clamping down on unauthorised financial advisers, and AES was one of the first UK financial advice firms to authorisation from the CNMV.

In addition, they are also Registered & Regulated by the Spanish Direccion General de Seguros y Fondos de Pensiones (DGS).
