The CalpeOnline24 Review

Sunrise Restaurant is situated in Calle Pintor Sorolla, in the centre of Calpe town, and offers both Indian & International cuisine in comfortable surroundings.

The Venue
Sunrise Restaurant is a large restaurant with a warm welcoming atmosphere. It was very easy to find, being located just off the Dry River Bed, and there was 'blue zone' parking directly outside the restaurant.

The People
The staff were immediately friendly when we arrived, and made us feel very relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble for them during the entire duration of our meal.

The Menu
On first glance of the menu at Sunrise, it looks quite daunting with a choice of Indian, Mexican & Italian dishes, as well as Steaks & Meats. There are 2 different set menus, one priced at 9,95€, the other at 11,95€, with each offering a selection from each part of the menu. We decided to choose a meal from each of the set menus, with my husband opting for an Indian meal, which at 9,95€ is a fantastic option as you can choose any Indian main course from the full A La Carte selection. I opted for the 11,95€ menu, and chose Nachos, followed by Sirloin Steak.

The Food
Our starters were preceeded by exceptionally fresh popadoms, together with onions, chutney & raita.
My husband's Vegetable Samosa starter was like no other Samosa I have ever tasted. It was made with the lightest of homemade shortcrust pastry & filled with lovely fresh vegetables.
The main courses also did not disappoint. My husbands Chicken Jalfrezi & Rice was exceptionally tasty, and my sirloin steak was very tender & grilled perfectly to my request.
For dessert, I opted for the homemade cake, whilst my husband chose Pancakes with Forest Fruit Sauce. I had no idea what to expect under the description of 'homemade cake', but when it arrived, it was similar to a baked cheesecake, flavoured with caramel & vanilla, and I have to say that it was really delicious.

The Last Word
Sunrise Restaurant has a great choice of menu and is perfect for enjoying an Indian meal at an excellent price. It is an ideal choice for anyone looking for a restaurant where family & friends can enjoy different cuisines, all under the same roof.
The next time we visit, we would like to try dishes from other parts of their menu, and in particular, try a homemade pizza from their wood oven!!
