The Ladies Five A Side Football Team Win the Futsal Tournament The Mayor received the Calpe Lady’s Five A Side Football Team in the Council Chambers in order to congratulate them on their success in winning the Futsal regional League. The ladies became champions when they beat Denia 7 to 0. The reception was attended by the Councillor for Sports, Pedro Jaime Fernandez and deputy Mayor Antonio Romera. The team was awarded with a commemorative plaque. The team wore T-shirts provide by their sponsor - Pol Yanguas Pharmacies, based in Calpe. The President of the Five a Side Football Association praised not only the players and their coaches but also stressed the contribution of the team’s sponsors and the parents of the players.
