The Pinada Gulas Restaurant is set in tranquil gardens just off the busy main Calpe to Moraira Coastal road.
The Bistro style restaurant opens onto a beautiful pool and terrace. There are tables and chairs round the pool for outside dining and the pool is available for customer use in the summer.
The People
The restaurant is run by Alin Mainau,and his wife Florica.
They have been in the restaurant business on the Costa Blanca for over 10 years and bought the Gulas Restaurant two years ago. They have worked hard to make the restaurant a tranquil haven. Alin is they type of chef who likes to come and talk to the customers explaining what dishes he has to offer that day.
He speaks, Rumanian, Spanish, English, French, German and Hungarian.

The Food:
Alin and Florica are originally from Romania and therefore their menu has many dishes from the Balkans, as well as the famous Hungarian Goulash.
When the weather is good Alin also barbecues food over charcoal. On the a la carte menu there are dishes to suit all tastes.
The starters include white cabbage salad, steamed mussels and Hungarian Goulash soup.
Specialities of the house are Pork Loin laced with bacon and garlic, Hungarian Goulash, Pork steak served with Chorizo(spicy sausage) and cream sauce. The are a variety of pastas such as Tagliatelli with chicken and mushroom sauce.
For grilled meat lovers, there is on offer a mixed grill or spare ribs which in the summer can be cooked on the barbecue. Fish lovers can have sword fish or salmon, a la plancha.
All main courses are served with boiled potatoes, noodles or french fries, depending on the dish, and salad.
The desserts include home-made apple strudel and fresh pancakes.
Alin has some good wines in stock including ones from Italy, Hungary and California.
There is a wide selection of Cocktails available that can be sipped by the pool whilst waiting for your food to arrive. If you do not want a full meal during the day you can pop in for a coffee and home-made cake for just 2.50€. |

SPECIAL EVENTS
On a fine day the restaurant can accommodate up to 65 people, 35 in the restaurant and 30 on the terrace.
Alin has prepared a lower terrace as a private dining area accommodating up to 16 people at a time.
