Calpe Sports Summer Club Information

The Town Hall has announced details of the Sports Summer Club in Calpe.

The sporting activities included are basketball, football, mini-volleyball & badminton.

There are 4 different dates announced:

1st July - 16th July
19th July - 30th July
2nd August - 13th August
16th August - 27th August

The prices are as follows:

50 euros - 2 weeks
90 euros - 4 weeks
130 euros - 6 weeks
160 euros - 8 weeks

Enrolment runs from 1st - 25th June at the main municipal sports hall.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN IN  PEÑON NATURE RESERVE

The Peñon Nature Reserve Park will be offering activities for children in the months of July and August. The children can be archaeologists for the day or play games in the park. The older children can participate in guided tours by day or night. All these activities are free.
The object of this initiative is to show the children the diversity of the flora and fauna at the nature reserve and the archaeological heritage, whilst still enjoying themselves. The daytime tours will be on Friday mornings and the night time ones on Tuesdays. All the tours will be in small groups and it is therefore advisable to book. This can be done by email to ifach_cma@gva.es.

THE TOWN HALL DEPARTMENTS OF EDUCATION AND SPORTS OFFER SUMMER CHESS SCHOOL

Due to the success of last summers scheme, being the very first Calpe Summer Chess School, the Town Hall have decided to offer again chess courses for children from 8 to 17 years during the months of July and August. This is being done with the full support of the Calpe Chess club.

Those interested in registering for the courses must do so in the Casa de Cultura in Calpe before the 25th of June. There are 60 places available and the price is 15 € per month. This year there will be two standards, beginners and advanced. The beginners will be taught the basics of the game, tactics and strategy as well as an introduction to the history of the game. The advanced level will look deeper into the theory of openings and endings. The course will include other games and learning activities, and an end of course tournament. The participants will be taught by an instructor recognized by the Valencian Chess Federation. The course will be inaugurated on Friday the 25th of June, at 20hrs, in the Salon Blau of the Casa de la Cultura, Calpe.
