Eetcafe Max is a Bar/ Restaurant in the centre of Calpe, serving snacks and meals all day, and an ideal place to have your nightcap.


The Business

A warm welcome awaits you at the Eetcafé Max.

Wan and Roy have had many years experience in the catering world. Wan owned a successful snackbar for 12 years in Holland, and Roy worked for a well-know British Steak House chain. They both moved to the Gran Canaries to work in hotels there.

The boys decided to return to Holland and take over a well-known late night bar. They worked extremely hard running the bar and turned it into a real success story. After six years they decided to take a sabbatical and toured Europe in a luxury campervan. They arrived in Calpe and liked it so much they knew this was the town to open a new type of Bar/ Restaurant.


The Venue

Eetcafé Max is situated on a pleasant street full of eateries.

The outside terrace is airy and there is always a slight breeze. The cosy interior is decorated like a traditional Spanish bar. There is a friendly relaxed atmosphere and you are welcome to have just a drink, a snack or a full meal.






The Food

You can start the day with a selection of English or Dutch Breakfasts.
The English Breakfasts always include English bacon and sausages, the full breakfast also includes fried mushrooms, tomato, baked beans and orange juice.
There are a variety of Dutch Breakfasts, for a change why not try bread, ham cheese and two fried eggs.
To accompany your morning coffee you will be offered a delicious piece of cake or tart.
There is a large selection of sandwiches for a light lunch or afternoon snack, from a boiled egg on a soft roll to a Dutch meatball sandwich.
There are also burgers and toasties to choose from.
In the evening you can choose from the a la carte menu a starter of Tuna Salad or Asparagus with Ham.
The Max menu has a selection of Dutch dishes such as meat croquettes and Dutch Sausages.
All are served with chips and mixed salad.
There is a selection of steaks, chicken fillets, escallops and pork chops that can be eaten with one of the delicious sauces, such as mushroom or "wild" sauce.
Eastern dishes are also on offer such as Nasi-Goreng or homemade chicken sate with a delicious sauce.
To finish your meal there is a selection of deserts, such as Apple Pie, Cherry Cake, Banana Royal and ice-creams.
At night whilst drinking your special beer you can snack on meat bitter balls or Vlametljes (small spicey meat filled spring rolls), or if you want to just finish the evening off
with a coffee and brandy, it has to be said Wan and Roy serve the best coffee in Town.
